On Saturday, January 19, 2019, Candice Nicole Sahm-Watkins, loving wife and mother of four, passed away at the age of 36 after her four year battle with cancer. Candice was preceded in death by her father, Scott Sahm and grandfather, William Dakin. She is survived by her husband, Christopher; children, Shayla, Savannah, Dalton, and Dylan; mother, Sharilyn (Dakin) Sahm; grandmother Nancy (Russell) Dakin; brother, Zachary; sister, Brittany (Sahm) Kronmiller and James; mother- and father-in-law, Brenda & Jeff Watkins; nephews, Blake Sahm, Carson Kronmiller, and Blaine Watkins; niece, Adrienne Watkins; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Candice was born on December 6, 1982 in Beech Grove, IN to Scott and Shari Sahm. Candice graduated from Roncalli High School in 2001 and went on to work a variety of positions in the service industry, spending a majority of her employment at Drifty’s Sports Pub, where she met her husband, Chris. Candice and Chris blessed this world with four precious children and were (finally!) married on August 11, 2018.
Candice, our RISER, filled our hearts with love and exuded hope, strength and grace. Her smile would light an entire room and she dedicated her life to giving to those she loved. Her selflessness, patience and care for others, especially her children, was an inspiration. Her ultimate calling in life was always to be a mother and she gave everything in her being to this role. Candice will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, big sister, niece, cousin, aunt, longstanding member of the Fab 5, everyone’s favorite server, and so much more to many others.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation hours will be available from 3-6:30 p.m. with a service immediately following.
Thank God for this woman, Amen.

Dear Sahm-Watkins family:
Take comfort in knowing Candice has the hope of living again in Paradise on earth when there will be no more crime, sickness or death- only peace, righteousness, and perfect health! Jehovah – “the God of all comfort” assures us of this. John 5:28, 29, Psalms 37:9-11 and 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. For more information on what God’s Kingdom will do for mankind please visit JW.org
Neighbor Joe says
Candace and Chris were great neighbors who made it obvious that they relished being parents to 4 well behaved children. I feel sadness and hope that Candace will be remembered that way. My condolences to Chris and the kids.
